It is impossible to judge the scale of these rock pillars without standing below them, but I can simply say that they are gigantic. The variation of red and orange hues created in the afternoon light, contrasted by the green summer grass and combined with the sheer scale of these butresses make this one of my favorite places in South Africa. I have spent many hours just sitting in the grass watching the light play on these sculptures of time and weather and it is something I recommend every South African with an appreciation for nature should see in their life.
