It is always difficult to find that something special in a landscape as rare animal behaviour is special to wildlife photographs, but rare natural occurences do present themself from time to time. I was waiting for sunset on the cracked pans just outside Sossusvlei when the sunlight slipped in under the clouds and created this unbelievably intense double rainbow in the approaching storm. My natural approach would have been to shoot a rainbow with an ultra-wide lens, but I was shooting with the long lens because the hood kept the front element dry in the rain. Afterwards I realised that the telephoto lens gives one a better idea of the scale of these dunes, which are among the largest in the world.
